So this was brand new information. It appeared like ‘In Love’ was its own value outside the rest of the Mood structure, and once a gal started falling for me, I received a sort of progress report on its ups and downs. So it wasn’t Milly Ann specifically after all, I thought. After my latest display of improvised heroism, it appeared like I’d won some of them over more than others. I wasn’t quite sure what to do with this info now that I had it though. It seemed… dangerous somehow.

“Well,” I said, reloading my shotgun, pretending I knew nothing at all. “Should we get back to work or does anyone want a ride first?”

“Hard pass,” Dolly said. “I get dizzy easily. But I’d ride you in, like, a whole other kind of way.”

“Such a slut,” Delphine muttered.

Dolly smirked at her counterpart. “As if you don’t want a turn on that stud.”

Delphine’s cheeks turned bright red. “I—zat’s absurd! How dare you imply such a zing.”

“Oh, so you’re saying you don’t want a taste of that succulent man meat?” Dolly pressed.

The red was creeping up Delphine’s neck, threatening to engulf her entire face. “I…I…ju—just shut up! Stop putting vords in my mouth.”

Giggling, Dolly replied, “Fine. I’ll stop putting words in your mouth…”

Delphine nodded with relief. “Good. Because—”

“Because your mouth is gonna be too full with Dean’s massive coh—Ow! Haha. Worth it!” Dolly’s tease turned into a cry of pain as Delphine slapped her ass loud enough to make the other woman jump. The raven-haired beauty laughed off the slap as their argument finally came to an end.

Susie came running, concern etched across her face. “Is everyone alright? I heard the shots and the screams. I figured you all had each other so I ran back to make sure Tater Lee was safe.”

Susie started inspecting each of the girls one by one in the same clinical manner that Milly Ann had inspected me with. Milly Ann just stood there and let it happen. Dolly was less patient, trying and failing to swat the white-haired vampire’s hands away. “Yes, we’re fine. Would you–stop… stop that!”

Minni rolled her eyes. “Ugh, Dolly’s right, we’re fine.”

Delphine held up a palm to stop Susie, who didn’t seem deterred as she approached me, patting me all over. Her hand lingered on my crotch a little too long. She blushed seeing my raised brow. “Had to make sure you’re all in one piece, that’s all,” she said with a small smile and a light pat on my crotch.

“Let’s get back to work then, shall we, gals?” I grinned.

The girls stared at me with a mix of interesting expressions, their faces eerily lit by work lights as I plugged them back in.

“Are you sure about that, sugar?” Susie asked. “After all that?”

I shrugged. “Night’s still young, and that retention pond isn’t going to dig itself.
